Mercy Iowa City updates masking, visitor policies

Mercy Iowa City is reinstating its universal masking and revised visitor restriction policy related to high COVID-19 transmission rates in Johnson County.

The reinstatement begins Dec. 22. Masks will be required by all Mercy Iowa City staff and visitors. Only two visitors will be allowed per day per patient. 

Johnson County’s Department of Public Health currently reports a medium community spread level. Cases have increased by 43% in the last two weeks in Johnson County,  according to The New York Times.
