Mercy, Fairfax State Savings Bank announce Giving Tuesday challenge

The Mercy Medical Center Foundation has announced that Fairfax State Savings Bank will be matching financial donations in observance of Giving Tuesday, which is Nov. 28.

Starting Nov. 14 and continuing through Nov. 28, all donations received through the Mercy Foundation’s Giving Tuesday website will be matched dollar for dollar by Fairfax State Savings Bank, up to $25,000 total.

Giving Tuesday occurs annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday inspires people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. This is the third year that Fairfax State Savings Bank has partnered with Mercy Medical Center Foundation.

“We were so excited about the good results we saw from Giving Tuesday last year at Mercy that we were inspired to increase our match again this year in hopes that it will garner more support,” said Patrick Slater, president and CEO of Fairfax State Savings Bank, in a news release.

Giving Tuesday donations can be made at mercycare.org/giving/tuesday or by check with Giving Tuesday included on the memo line. Donations received by 11:59 p.m. Nov. 28 will qualify for the Fairfax State Savings Bank match. Giving Tuesday gifts may also be designated to specific funds.
