Mercy Cedar Rapids is hosting a career fair from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, at the Jewel & Jim Plumb Heart Center, 846 9th Ave SE, Cedar Rapids. The event is open to all positions with special emphasis on radiology techs, ARRTs, certified medical assistants, registered nurses and phlebotomy techs, a news release stated.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, an average of 1.8 million job openings are projected each year in healthcare occupations through 2032 due to employment growth and the need to replace workers leaving these positions.

The career fair at Mercy will give potential applicants a chance to learn about job openings and pose questions to Mercy’s talent acquisition team, the news release stated.

“We rely on our staff to provide exceptional healthcare,” said Alanna Barker, manager, talent acquisition. “Events like the career fair, as well as our ongoing Talent Tuesday events, offer a convenient option for job-seekers to learn more about a career at Mercy.”

IowaWORKS will also be on-site prior to the event to help potential applicants with resumes, interview skills and other application tasks to work toward their vision for the most sustainable, future-ready workforce in the nation.

“By working with employers like Mercy, we’re able to serve Iowans by connecting them with opportunities that allow them to take the next step in their careers,” said Natalie Fraehlich, career planner with IowaWORKS.
