Marion has begun a new chapter in local journalism with the launch of the Marion Sun.

Locally owned and operated, the Marion Sun began operations in early November and is dedicated to delivering comprehensive news and community-driven content to Marion residents. The community is invited to stay informed by subscribing to one of the Marion Sun’s email newsletters, by regularly visiting the website or connecting on social media.

“As the sole publication exclusively dedicated to Marion, our mission is to ensure that local voices are amplified and local stories are told with the focus they deserve,” said Marion Sun editor and publisher Christopher V. Sherman.

A free service, the Marion Sun newspaper thrives on sponsorship and advertising, providing a unique platform for brands to shine in a trusted, local environment amidst community stories and events.

“As the Marion Sun continues to grow and become an integral part of Marion’s information landscape, we are excited to offer advertising and sponsorship opportunities to local businesses and organizations,” said Cynthia Freese, head of Marion Sun’s community development.
