Kirkwood to offer workplace responsibility workshop in Vinton

    Kirkwood Community College will host a three-hour workshop on workplace responsibility and accountability Feb. 25 at its Benton County Center in Vinton.

    The session, titled “Empowered for Success: The Power of Responsibility and Accountability,” will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at the center, 111 W. 3rd St.

    Brenda Meeker, owner and president of Elevate Consulting LLC, will lead the workshop. Ms. Meeker’s background includes experience in learning and development, human resources and organizational consulting.

    “In today’s rapidly changing work environment, personal accountability and responsibility are essential skills that directly impact team success and organizational culture,” said Quinn Pettifer, Kirkwood director of corporate training, in a release. “This workshop gives participants a chance to reflect, grow, and strengthen those foundational skills in a supportive and engaging setting.”

    Participants will receive access to Kirkwood’s Skills 2027 Report, which compiles information from area businesses about future workforce needs across the college’s seven-county service area.

    Kirkwood Continuing Education reports nearly 30,000 annual enrollments in classes ranging from industry certification to career development to personal enrichment. The college says more than 14,000 new jobs have been created through its Continuing Education & Training Services over the past 20 years.
