Kinzler Construction Services announced its acquisition of WD Door, an overhead door and operator company with more than 25 years experience in both residential and commercial fields. WD Door has their headquarters in Ankeny – with a second location in Cedar Rapids, known as Doors by George. The acquisition was effective Jan. 1.

“At the start of the pandemic, if you asked us to look forward, I don’t think we would have expected this outcome,” Tanner Kinzler, President & CEO of Kinzler Construction Services, stated in a release. “However, the construction pipeline has remained strong and this merger further strengthens our ability to serve builders and homeowners across the state of Iowa and beyond.”

Kinzler Construction Services is a family and employee-owned construction subcontractor based in Ankeny, with branch locations across Iowa in Ames, Cedar Rapids, and Waterloo, as well as Denver and Tyler, Texas. Kinzler installs insulation products, gypsum concrete and fireproofing. The company also distributes a full line of construction materials, including drywall, steel framing, acoustical ceiling tile & EIFS.

WD Door has developed a reputation built on quality and service, led by Steve Bouchard and Jeff Myers, who will continue to lead the overhead door division of the business as general managers. All 50-plus WD Door and Doors by George team members are being retained.

“Throughout the pandemic, WD Door and Doors by George have continued to grow,” Mr. Bouchard said. “Merging with Kinzler means exponential increases in infrastructure, technology, employee benefits and administrative support.”
