The Iowa Women’s Foundation presented grant funds to 13 organizations from across Iowa at several recognition events throughout the state.

According to a news release sent by the foundation, grantmaking serves the foundation’s longstanding mission to improve the lives of Iowa women and girls by funding programs to address evidence-based barriers to their economic self-sufficiency.

Regional presentation events were held in Iowa City, Jefferson, West Des Moines and Cedar Falls — each one bringing together grantees, donors, and foundation stakeholders. Attendees were able to network and hear from recipients about their missions and the programs receiving grant funds.

Grantees are organizations working to address one of the six primary barriers to economic self-sufficiency for women and girls, with programs at all stages of planning and development. IWF awarded 8 Core Grants totaling $150,000 and 5 Community Childcare Solutions (CCCS) Grants totaling $40,000.
