The Iowa Realty Foundation has announced a donation from their most recent funding cycle to the Best Buddies program in Iowa.
Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization with a single goal: To establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
The world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of the 200 million people with IDD, Best Buddies International empowers individuals across the world through program-based initiatives.
According to a news release, the Iowa Realty Foundation’s donations “support initiatives within our local communities that are aimed to help people create meaningful friendships, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy, and communication skills. Iowa Realty understands and appreciates the importance of Best Buddies in Iowa and proudly supports their continued efforts.”
The Iowa Realty Foundation hosts two funding cycles per year. Every few weeks, the company’s agents and employees can donate to the Foundation. Donations are then tallied and given to local organizations after they complete the application process and are deemed a “fit” for funding guidelines.
