As the Dubuque Street Reconstruction Project continues to affect businesses along the construction zone, the Iowa City Downtown District (ICDD) has announced a new gift card incentive program to encourage customers to shop and dine in the impacted area.

Starting July 8, customers who spend $150 or more at participating businesses on Dubuque Street will receive a $20 ICDD gift card as appreciation for their support. The initiative will run for two months until August 8.

To qualify for the gift card, patrons must save their receipts, and submit them through a form provided by the ICDD. Customers can submit up to five receipts, totaling between $150 and $5,000, according to the form. Receipts must be readable and itemized, showing the date, business name, and purchase total. Taxes, tips, delivery fees, and shipping costs are not eligible for the purchase total.

ICDD staff will then review the submitted receipts for authenticity and clarity. Verified customers will receive their $20 gift cards by mail within seven business days.

Purchases must be made at qualified Dubuque Street businesses, as listed on the ICDD website, and dated between July 8 and August 8, 2024.
