The Iowa Association of Business and Industry will host more than 500 state leaders at its annual Taking Care of Business Conference in Coralville and Iowa City from June 2 to 4, 2026, for three days of discussions on key economic and leadership issues.

The conference agenda features a CEO panel moderated by Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, focusing on artificial intelligence, workforce challenges, and the state’s business climate.

Attendees will also hear from candidates for governor in a forum set to take place just two days after the primary election. The top vote-getter from the Republican primary will be invited to participate.

Nationally recognized speakers include Donna Orender, the former president of the WNBA and a leadership expert, and Shawn DuBravac, Ph.D., an economist and futurist. Orender will speak on organizational success, while DuBravac will cover emerging trends and technology influencing the economy.

“The Taking Care of Business Conference is about bringing leaders together to learn, connect, and move Iowa forward,” said ABI President Nicole Crain. “ABI members and business leaders attend because this event enables real conversations on topics that will shape Iowa’s future”.

Additional events include interactive workshops, the announcement of the 2026 Coolest Thing Made in Iowa, and the graduation of the 2025-26 Leadership Iowa Class.
