The Iowa Association of Business and Industry’s (ABI) 2023 Taking Care of Business Conference will be held June 14-15 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cedar Rapids Convention Complex, located at 350 First Ave. NE.

The conference will bring together more than 500 industry leaders to learn, network and share ideas on how to grow and strengthen Iowa’s business climate.

“We are excited to bring the 2023 Taking Care of Business Conference to Cedar Rapids,” ABI President Mike Ralston said in a release. “The vibrancy of this community is palpable. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to explore renovated historical cultural venues, incredible local restaurants, one of the best municipal golf courses in Iowa, and so much more.”

Established in 1903, ABI is Iowa’s largest statewide business organization with more than 1,500 member companies representing 330,000 working Iowans. Its mission is to nurture a favorable business, economic, governmental and social climate within the state.

“Known as Iowa’s premier business conference, this year’s event, with Cedar Rapids as the backdrop, will inspire new ideas, foster valuable connections, and equip attendees with the tools needed to thrive in today’s dynamic business landscape,” Mr. Ralston said.

The conference will feature:

  • Keynote speaker Cy Wakeman, a drama researcher, New York Times best-selling author, and global thought leader.
  • Brandon Williams, a leadership coach and technical expert, who created his Human Factors Leadership method.
  • Ryan Anderson, vice president of global research and insights at MillerKnoll.

ABI previously held their annual conference in Cedar Rapids in 2014.

“We are beyond thrilled to welcome ABI back to Cedar Rapids and be part of their important mission and goals to sustain and grow Iowa business,” Associate Executive Director of the Cedar Rapids Tourism Office Julie Stow said in a release.
