Housing Trust Fund offers $1.2 million for affordable housing

The Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County is offering $1.2 million in funding to support the development and rehabilitation of affordable housing.

Eligible applicants include businesses, nonprofits, builders, developers, and governmental agencies seeking funds for affordable owner-occupied, rental, transitional or emergency housing in Johnson County. Income-qualified households for the funding must be below 80% of the Area Median Income. 

The application deadline for organizations is 11 a.m. on Feb. 2. The application, Area Median Income guidelines, and additional information is available on the Housing Trust Fund’s website  under the Programs tab’s Revolving Loan Program section. The fund invested $2.5 million in the 2022 fiscal year, making 122 units of affordable housing available within Johnson County through development and preservation.

In 18 years, the Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County has invested more than $13.7 million in creating and preserving affordable housing for almost 1,060 households.
