Merger marks firm’s fourth acquisition in two years

Honkamp, P.C., a leading CPA and business advisory group in the Midwest, has recently welcomed onboard one of the largest 20 CPA firms in the St. Louis metropolitan area, Schowalter & Jabouri, P.C., further expanding its team.

The firms officially merged on Dec. 2, marking the acquisition the first Missouri office location for Honkamp. The firm currently has eight offices in Iowa and Wisconsin, and is headquartered in Dubuque, with 300 employees.

Schowalter & Jabouri was founded in 1976 and has a solid reputation in St. Louis as a solid provider of client services to a wide range of industries. The merger into
Honkamp only bolsters that service to clients, according to Schowalter & Jabouri president Jamie Jabouri.

This marks Honkamp’s fourth acquisition in two years. Honkamp added Nigl Accounting LLP, based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in December 2021. In November 2022, Honkamp acquired Vaassen, Pluemer CPAs, LLC, of Platteville, Wisconsin, and the Cedar Falls, Iowa, office of Gosling & Co., P.C.
