GreenState Credit Union names Vikram Israni as CEO

GreenState Credit Union announced the appointment of Vikram Israni as its new chief executive officer, Feb. 6. He succeeds GreenState’s chief financial officer Todd Fanning, who was serving as interim CEO following the retirement of Jeff Disterhoft.

According to a news release, Mr. Israni brings decades of credit union experience and was previously chief financial officer at Wings Credit Union headquartered in Apple Valley, Minnesota. GreenState’s Board of Directors partnered with global search firm Spencer Stuart to conduct an extensive nationwide search, which began in September.

“The board was resolute that we were looking for our next leader to have a strong financial background to help navigate these challenging economic times, but also someone with the charisma and character to lead our growing team.” Fred Mims, chair of the GreenState Credit Union Board of Directors, said in a statement. “We are delighted to welcome Vikram Israni as the new CEO of GreenState Credit Union. Our board was impressed by Vic’s visionary leadership, strategic acumen, and commitment to the credit union philosophy. We believe his experience will further strengthen GreenState’s position as a trusted financial partner for our members.”

Mr. Israni has more than 25 years in the financial services industry. He holds an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management – Thunderbird and a bachelor of science from St. John’s University.
