Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation announces 2025 grant opportunities

The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation has announced key dates and details for its 2025 grantmaking programs, with application deadlines set for March 7, June 27, and Sept. 12.

Grants will support nonprofit organizations working to enhance the quality of life in Linn County. Funding is available for a variety of needs, including new and ongoing programs, general operations, capacity building, emergency expenses, emerging opportunities, endowment growth and initiatives outside the Cedar Rapids metro area.

The Foundation also oversees Competitive Donor-Advised Funds for local corporations and families, with each donor determining funding priorities, award amounts, and project selections.

Upcoming grant workshop

The Grants Team will host Nonprofit Know-How: Grants in 2025 on Friday, Jan. 31, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Cedar Rapids Public Library. This free workshop will provide insights into grant opportunities, application procedures, and tips for applicants. Registration is required.

2025 grant programs

The first grant cycle opens in early February and closes on March 7. Eligible programs include:

  • Program Support Grants: For new innovative or ongoing programs, with a maximum award of $25,000 per year. Award limits are based on organization age and budget. Contact Sanjana Raghavan at [email protected] for details.
  • Organization Support Grants: For general operating costs and capacity-building efforts, with a maximum award of $25,000 per year.   • GreatAmerica Financial Services Corporation Competitive Donor-Advised Fund: Supports nonprofits that align with their funding priorities which include program, capital, or event sponsorships. Contact Rochelle Naylor at [email protected] for details.
