Dirty Dough has now opened its first Iowa location in southwest Cedar Rapids, offering another option for gourmet cookie aficionados in the Corridor.

The Tempe, Arizona-based company’s newest location, at 2811 Wiley Blvd. SW Ste. 100, officially opened for business Feb. 5, according to the store’s Facebook page.

Dirty Dough specializes in warm, “triple layer” cookies, according to their website, with a “proprietary cookie stuffing technology” that’s used to create its sizeable treats.

“Life gets messy. It’s better with cookies,” the company’s tagline says.

Dirty Dough’s specialties include Stuffed Chocolate Chip, the Brookie, The Reverse, and Cookies ‘n’ Creme. Specialty cookies are also available, and change weekly.

Dirty Dough was established by founder Bennett Maxwell in 2018. Under the philosophy “it’s what’s on the inside that counts,” the company has also placed a heavy emphasis on mental health education.

The Dirty Dough Cedar Rapids store is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Contact them at (319) 200-8011.

In October 2023, Dirty Dough resolved a lawsuit filed by one of its primary competitors, Crumbl (which also has a Cedar Rapids location at 1005 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE Ste. 50), over alleged infringement of intellectual property rights, recipes and packaging.
