What do you consider your biggest break so far? Having daughters has helped me cultivate my patience. Daughters are good at teaching patience.
What would most people be surprised to learn about you? I play the banjo.
What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why? Food insecurity, especially with children – one in eight children in Iowa face food insecurity daily. If you are constantly hungry, or must worry about food, nothing else matters.
If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support? It would all go toward several food pantries in the Corridor.
What are your passions outside of the workplace? Running (it’s a love/hate thing) and blacksmithing.
What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace? Millennials are eager to learn and have a solid work ethic.
What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50? I hope that I continue to grow, learn and change, and that by the age of 50 I’m still open to that mindset. As Plato said, “You must grow until you die.”
