Don Hummer Trucking has received a series of honors from industry partners and professional organizations, highlighting both its operational performance and employee satisfaction.
The Cedar Rapids-based carrier earned three awards from major clients — PepsiCo, HNI Corporation (HON Company), and Pella Corporation — in recognition of its service, reliability, and problem-solving capabilities.
PepsiCo named Don Hummer Trucking its 2024 Central Region Carrier of the Year, recognizing the company’s high-volume operations and consistent 98% or higher on-time delivery rates in key markets such as Cedar Rapids, Kansas City, Chicago and Dallas.
HNI Corporation recognized the company as its 2024 Truckload Carrier of the Year. The award honors performance in customer service, collaboration, and reliability, and acknowledges the work of Hummer’s drivers and operations team.
Pella Corporation named Don Hummer Trucking a 2024 Critical Problem-Solving Carrier. The designation reflects the carrier’s ability to manage complex, multi-stop loads and support multiple locations in a dynamic distribution network.
“We deeply appreciate being recognized by these important partners,” said Andrew Hummer, vice president of operations. “We are proud of the work we do, and we’re grateful for the confidence these organizations put in us and our entire team.”
In a separate recognition, Don Hummer Trucking was recently certified as a Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Elite Fleet carrier. The new distinction places the company among a select group of North American truckload carriers recognized as a “Best Place to Drive.”
The TCA certification is based on anonymous driver surveys conducted by a third party, evaluating compensation, benefits, engagement, satisfaction, turnover, training, support, safety, equipment, and quality of life. According to the survey, 98% of Hummer drivers said the company is a great place to work and would recommend it to other drivers.
