The Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center, 300 E 9th St., is celebrating a recent guest room renovation with the unveiling of local Iowa artists’ work in each of its 288 contemporary and modern guest rooms and suites.

“Supporting local artists is the first of many ways the hotel continues to fulfill its mission to embrace the local arts, culture, and literary scene of Iowa. As the only premium, full-service hotel in the Iowa River Landing area, Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center is equipped with inviting spaces and passionate staff that have a strong desire to support the greater community,” said Matthew Traetow, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center, in a news release. “This incredible artwork brings life into our hotel and we hope guests feel our open invitation to explore.”

Painters, illustrators, printmakers, fine artists and photographers are among the featured award-winning artists, which include Iowa City-based Dana Noble, Craig Albright, Rich Herrmann, and Cheryl Jacobsen; Alyssa Hamilton of Cedar Rapids; Kelly Kunzler of Des Moines; and Jennifer Drinkwater of Ames.

According to the release, the upgraded guest rooms are part of the first phase of a multi-million dollar hotel renovation. Aside from the guest rooms, the hotel added a new Regency Club lounge, an expanded café and marketplace, an expanded gym, family lounge, and a resurfaced pool and spa.

In spring 2024, a new restaurant concept called Watermill Kitchen + Bar will debut and offer a menu featuring locally sourced, fresh ingredients. The renovated restaurant will be open to hotel guests and community members alike.
