Chipotle opens new Iowa City spot with drive-thru

    Chipotle Mexican Grill is set to open a new location at 21 Sturgis Corner Drive, Iowa City, on Friday, March 20, featuring the brand’s signature “Chipotlane” drive-thru.

    The Chipotlane allows customers to conveniently pick up digital orders without leaving their vehicles and is the first of its kind in Iowa City. The new restaurant will be open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.

    Menu Highlights and Rewards

    The location will also feature the brand’s new curated High Protein Menu, with items ranging from 15 to 81 grams of protein. This menu includes entrees like the Double High Protein Bowl and High Protein-High Fiber Bowl, snacks such as the new High Protein Cup, and a Single Chicken Taco starting at $3.50. Iowa City customers will be able to try the limited-time protein offering, Chicken al Pastor.

    College students can enroll in the new Chipotle U Rewards program starting today at chipotle.com/chipotle-u-rewards. The program offers students 1,000 bonus points upon enrollment and a 20% point bonus on every purchase.

    For families and larger groups, the “Build-Your-Own Chipotle” offering serves four to six people. First-time customers can receive $10 off their order using the code TRYBYOC.
