NewBo City Market has announced Cedar Witch Goods as the recipient of the 2024 Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year award. Owned by Katie Adams, Cedar Witch Goods stood out among six entrepreneurs competing for the opportunity to become the next shopkeeper at NewBo City Market.

According to a news release, this award, sponsored by Linn Area Credit Union, grants Ms. Adams the opportunity to showcase her lifestyle goods and skincare products at the market starting in June. Her business will receive a year of free rent at the market.

The Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Summit was held Friday, March 22, where participants engaged in a series of seminars and workshops. On Saturday, March 23, the summit culminated with a guest vendor market, where contestants showcased their offerings. The total dollar amount generated by each participant contributed to the judges’ decision in selecting the ultimate winner, according to the release.

“I am so excited to be the winner of this year’s grant!” A post on Facebook stated. “Thank you to Linn Area Credit Union for sponsoring and to NewBo for hosting. And to every single person who showed up for me yesterday. I appreciate you all so much! See you at NewBo in June!”

Cedar Witch Goods competed against 5 other finalists in the competition; Basement Collective, Bgood2all, The Green Fork Soup & Salad Bar, JeMoni’s, and Missing Link Artistry.
