A new indoor family entertainment center that touts itself as the state’s largest indoor adventure park is opening in the fall of 2025.

The Fun Station, owned by Edwards Entertainment, is constructing a new facility at 8810 Brighton Way in Cedar Rapids. The over 70,000-square-foot building will feature multiple hands-on activity zones, among them a zip line, trampoline area, climbing walls, ropes course, laser tag, mini golf, bumper cars and more.

The new adventure park will replace the current Fun Station at 200 Collins Rd., a facility that is more than 40 years old. Prior to its opening in 1993 as a family entertainment center, it operated as a movie theater in the 70’s and 80’s.

“As a company, we have evolved over the years and with the current location in Cedar Rapids, we are not able to offer a wider variety of attractions for our guests in the current space,” the Fun Station’s website stated. “The Edwards family is committed to providing great attractions and places for all families to enjoy with one another. We think everyone will really enjoy the new facility.”

In addition to the attractions, the new Fun Station will have two eateries, a bar, an outdoor patio area and a pond, with plans to introduce bumper boats by summer 2027. The company already has expansion plans in mind and are building in shell space for future growth.

“We will continue to operate and be open at our current location until our new location is ready to go…once we open the new location, the current location will close down,” the company’s website said, and existing memberships will be transferred to the new facility.

Edwards Entertainment also operates Fun Stations in Dubuque and the Quad Cities.
