
Decision Innovation Solutions (DIS), an Urbandale-based economic research and analysis firm, has released an economic impact study on the proposed Cedar Crossing Casino and Entertainment Center in Cedar Rapids.
DIS’s study, commissioned by Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, projects an impact of $257 million during the construction phase and $183 million in the first year of operations. As stated in a news release, this project represents more than $2.25 billion in total impact from construction through the first 10 years of operations.

- Total Economic Output: Estimated at $257 million, encompassing direct, indirect, and induced impacts.
- Value Added: $147 million.
- Employment: An average of 792 jobs supported over the 18-month construction period.
- Labor Income: Totaling $81.5 million.
Operational Phase
- Annual Direct Revenue: Projected to be $121.3 million
- Direct Employment: 365 local hires
- Total Annual Economic Impact:
- Output: $183 million
- Jobs Supported: 315 in addition to 365 employed by the casino
- Value Added: $111 million, with $34.9 million in labor income
- Projected Economic Impact: $1.99 billion over the first 10 years of operations
