Saxton Inc. makes its first appearance on the CBJ’s Best of the Corridor list this year, but it’s far from a new name in the region. The commercial interiors company, which started in Cedar Rapids before expanding to Des Moines, will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year – an impressive span owed in part to its focus on service and building better spaces. “Saxton helps organizations leverage the power of space to achieve improved outcomes for both the individual and the employer,” said Leisa Fox, market president. The company has an extensive client list, including the University of Iowa, Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, CIPCO and Pella Windows; it has also done projects in more than 25 states, with the list growing each year. Owner Kim Augspurger has focused on creating a vibrant and innovative workplace, with the firm earning honors ranging from DMACC’s Most Innovative Company in 2014 to a No. 3 ranking on the CBJ’s Coolest Places to Work list in 2015.
