BankIowa announced plans Tuesday to expand into Iowa County for the first time by opening a new branch in the historic Amana Colonies.
The branch, located at 504 39th Ave., is scheduled to open in September. The facility was previously used by U.S. Bank. BankIowa officials said the move is a strategic expansion within the Iowa Corridor market.
The new location will offer traditional deposit and consumer checking accounts, along with services tailored for the region’s agricultural operations and local businesses.
“We are exceptionally proud and excited to bring BankIowa to Iowa County and to partner directly with the historic Amana community,” said Alison Urbina, BankIowa chief executive officer. “This expansion is a natural milestone in our Corridor growth strategy.”
Urbina noted that the Amana Colonies represent a unique mix of heritage, tourism, and commercial enterprise. By moving into the former U.S. Bank building, BankIowa aims to maintain local financial infrastructure for the community.
Additional details regarding the grand opening, branch hours, and staffing will be released later this summer.
Founded in 1921, BankIowa is a locally owned community bank serving families, businesses, and farms in Eastern Iowa.
