Director of Community Outreach & Assistance Linn County Community Services AGE: 32 What was your first job? Customer service representative (phone girl) at Pizza Hut five days after I turned 14. Who do you consider your local mentor? Tracey Achenbach, Director of the Housing Fund for Linn County, ECICOG; Stephanie Murphy, Director of the Neighborhood Finance Corporation. What do you consider your biggest break so far? Starting my position with Linn County. Under county leadership, I have been afforded a lot of autonomy and leadership opportunities to identify gaps and make a community impact. What would most people be surprised to learn about you? I am actually quite introverted. I enjoy working with others and problem-solving big community issues, but at the end of a day with a lot of meetings, I am totally exhausted. What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why? Housing at all levels, but safe, affordable and accessible housing in particular. Housing has been an issue for many years. If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support? Staffing to capacity for area non-profits working in the housing sector. Funding is rarely available and accessible to support the staff needed to adequately work in this field. What are your passions outside of the workplace? Painting and decorating my house and baking new things with my son. We bake something new every weekend.   What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace? We are highly motivated and tend to be people pleasers. What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50? I want to have made a meaningful impact on housing in Linn County — for all of Linn County.
