Appliance Plus plans ribbon-cutting for new Marion location

Appliance Plus will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their newest location in Marion on Thursday, Dec. 12 at noon.

The appliance retailer officially opened its Marion location on Sept. 5, taking over the space formerly occupied by Star Appliance at 600 44th St. Star Appliance served the Cedar Rapids metro area, and Appliance Plus officials said they plan to continue that legacy.

Appliance Plus traces it roots to 1946, when Harold Fox started an electrical business and expanded into general appliances. After Harold’s passing in 1965, his son Duane and wife Faith continued the business, eventually creating Appliance Plus in 1996 in Oelwein.

Today, the business is led by Gary and Brenda Fox, who have overseen significant growth, including expansion into multiple communities across Iowa, from adding locations in Independence, West Union 0and Webster City to recent expansions in Dyersville, Waukon and Algona.

The new Appliance Plus location in Marion specializes in new and scratch-and-dent appliances, offering competitive pricing and a personalized, small-business experience. Services include delivery, installation, and haul-away.
