Cedar Rapids-based Van Meter Inc., a leading distributor of electrical and automation solutions and provider of related contractor and industrial services, has been selected a 2023 Top Workplaces USA award recipient, ranking among the top 100 qualifying mid-size companies in the nation.
The Top Workplaces USA ranking is based on feedback from an employee engagement survey administered by research partner Energage. The survey measures aspects of workplace culture including alignment, coaching, connection, engagement, leadership, performance and basic workplace benefits and expectations.

By prioritizing the employee experience above all else, they’re more innovative, productive, and successful than their competitors and the rest of the market,” said Dan Kessler, president of Energage, in a company news release.
The 2023 list marks Van Meter’s first appearance on the Top Workplaces USA list. The 95-year-old company earned regional recognition as a Top Workplace in Iowa and Minnesota on multiple occasions. In 2022, it received National Culture Excellence Awards from Energage for Employee Wellbeing, Employee Appreciation, Professional Development and Woman Led.
