Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust (CRBT) has received an “outstanding” rating in its most recent Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance evaluation from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago — the second consecutive time the bank has earned the designation.

The rating puts CRBT among a small group of top performers nationally. The Federal Reserve has issued just three “Outstanding” scores out of 38 CRA exams conducted so far in 2026.

The CRA, enacted in 1977, encourages federally insured financial institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities they serve, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods, while maintaining safe and sound banking practices. The Federal Reserve evaluates state member banks on their record of lending, investment and service activities within their communities, assigning one of four ratings: Outstanding, Satisfactory, Needs to Improve or Substantial Noncompliance.

“As a community bank, we’re committed to investing in the people, neighborhoods, and business that strengthen the Cedar Rapids area,” CRBT President and CEO James Klein said in a statement. “Helping our community succeed isn’t just good business, it’s the right thing to do.”

CRBT provides full-relationship commercial and consumer banking, along with trust and asset management services, from five locations across the greater Cedar Rapids metro area. Founded in 2001, the bank reported $2.8 billion in assets as of March 31, and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
