The Robins Economic Development Initiative (REDI) has appointed Ken Paxton as its new economic development director.
Mr. Paxton brings more than 20 years of experience in economic development, having served communities across Iowa in a variety of leadership roles. He most recently served as executive director of the Greene County Development Corporation.
During Mr. Paxton’s 15-year tenure in Greene County, the community saw several major projects come to fruition, including a new casino, a $35 million high school and junior college project, a new Early Learning Center, a new Hy-Vee and multiple new business developments.
His background also includes experience in strategic planning, project management, marketing and business ownership.
“The REDI board is excited about the direction ahead with Ken’s extensive experience and looks forward to the positive impact he will have on Robins,” said Carrie Wilkinson, REDI’s chair. “We are confident that his expertise, passion, and dedication will help us continue to grow thoughtfully and successfully.”
In his new role, Mr. Paxton will focus on business attraction, community partnerships and strategic growth initiatives in Robins and the surrounding region.
Mr. Paxton succeeds Greg Neumeyer, who has served as REDI director since 2021. Mr. Neumeyer remains with the organization, serving on the REDI board of directors.
