Fehr Graham has secured a spot on the Engineering News-Record Top 500 Design Firms list for the fifth consecutive year, the firm announced Thursday.
The Midwest-based engineering and environmental firm with offices in Cedar Rapids, Manchester and West Union in Iowa, and Aurora, Champaign, East Peoria, Freeport, Rochelle, Rockford and Springfield in Illinois as well as Monroe and Sheboygan in Wisconsin, ranked No. 452 on this year’s list. ENR, a leading industry publication, ranks companies based on annual revenue data collected from across the U.S.
Fehr Graham President Kyle Saunders attributed the milestone to the company’s 260-person workforce across 12 offices in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.
“This recognition reflects the great work happening across Fehr Graham,” Mr. Saunders said. “Last year was another year of growth, and that is part of our DNA. Growth creates opportunities to expand careers and benefits, enhance our workplaces, and deliver impactful projects.”
The firm reached its highest ranking of No. 435 in 2025. Its previous rankings include No. 474 in 2024, No. 471 in 2023 and No. 494 in 2022.
Founded in Freeport in 1973 by Al Fehr and Joe Graham, the company has grown from a five-person operation to a regional player through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
The firm’s project portfolio includes water and wastewater treatment facilities, transportation infrastructure like roads and bridges, and commercial developments.
