    The Iowa Association of Business and Industry is partnering with Nicolet National Bank to host a statewide competition seeking nominations for the “Coolest Thing Made in Iowa.”

    Now in its third year, the contest celebrates Iowa’s manufacturing sector, which the association says contributes more than $43 billion in economic output annually and employs more than 215,000 people statewide.

    “Iowa manufacturers are known for their innovation and their ability to compete on a global stage,” said Nicole Crain, ABI president. “The Coolest Thing Made in Iowa contest celebrates the ingenuity of our manufacturers and the wide range of products made right here in Iowa.”

    Any product manufactured in Iowa is eligible. Nominations may be submitted by employees, consumers and other manufacturing supporters through March 27 at www.coolestthingia.com.

    Following the nomination period, the public will vote to determine the top 16 products, which will then compete in a bracket-style tournament until one product is named the 2026 winner.

    Key dates include:

    • April 6, when nominees will be announced;
    • April 7–15, the initial popular vote round;
    • April 16, when the top 16 will be announced; and
    • April 17–May 15, additional voting rounds.

    The winner will be announced June 3 during ABI’s Taking Care of Business Conference, scheduled June 2–4 in Coralville and Iowa City.
