Alliant Energy and its charitable foundation, together with company employees and retirees, contributed nearly $6.6 million and more than 66,000 volunteer hours to nonprofits and community causes in 2025.
The Cedar Rapids-based utility and the Alliant Energy Foundation supported more than 1,280 organizations and distributed over 700 grants during the year, with giving focused on four areas: community safety and engagement, environmental stewardship, workforce readiness, and hunger and housing.
“We’re proud of the difference we’re making, supporting more than 1,280 organizations and distributing over 700 grants in 2025 alone,” said Aimee Davis, Alliant Energy Foundation board chair. “We helped provide fresh dairy products to rural food pantries, which are often difficult for them to source, and advanced our goal of planting 1 million trees by 2030. This work reflects our purpose of serving customers and building stronger communities.”
Community safety efforts included more than $35,000 in safety grants distributed to 31 communities, helping police departments, fire departments and EMS agencies acquire new or upgraded equipment. Funding also supported playground construction and community events.
On the environmental front, Alliant Energy continued progress toward its goal of planting one million trees across Iowa and Wisconsin by the end of 2030. Since July 2021, the company has helped plant more than 627,000 trees in the two states.
The foundation awarded scholarships to more than 100 students, with contributions totaling more than $114,000 to offset tuition costs and student loan expenses.
In Wisconsin, the foundation partnered with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin to launch Dairyland Delivery, a program aimed at distributing fresh, locally produced dairy products to families in need. The initiative expanded into several rural counties in eastern Wisconsin, including Fond du Lac, Sheboygan and Wood counties.
“Every day, we support the programs and partners that strengthen communities we serve across Iowa and Wisconsin,” said Andy Kitslaar, executive director of the Alliant Energy Foundation. “Through both critical grants and hands-on employee volunteerism, we’re proud to make a meaningful difference for our neighbors.”
The Alliant Energy Foundation is a separate philanthropic entity created by Alliant Energy Corp. and funded solely by company shareholders. Since its founding in 1998, the foundation has contributed more than $78 million to nonprofits and community projects.
