The Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) has named Matt Majeski as its new chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

Mr. Majeski currently serves as HACAP’s chief operating officer and will work with outgoing CEO Jane Drapeaux during the transition. Ms. Drapeaux announced her retirement in September after 18 years of leadership.

“Matt’s deep understanding of our mission, combined with his extensive leadership experience and strong community partnerships, make him the ideal choice to lead HACAP into its next chapter,” Ms. Drapeaux said.

Mr. Majeski has more than 25 years of experience in human services. Before joining HACAP, he served as service area manager for the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, overseeing operations across 17 counties in eastern Iowa. His career also includes leadership roles with Linn County Public Health and several community-based organizations.

Mr. Majeski is a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard, where he specialized in medical operations and operational planning.

HACAP is a nonprofit community action agency with a strong commitment to helping people develop skills to become successful and build strong communities. Each year, HACAP serves 75,000 individuals through its comprehensive array of 45 programs. For more details, please visit hacap.org.
