SBA approves $6.6 million in Iowa small business loans in August

Loan recipients include two Corridor businesses

    The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) approved 19 loans totaling just over $6.65 million to Iowa businesses in August 2025, including two firms in the Corridor, according to newly released monthly figures.

    The financing was made available through the SBA’s two largest lending programs and came from participating lenders across the state.

    The SBA’s 7(a) and 504 programs helped capitalize 10 new and nine existing businesses in Iowa last month, according to a release, issuing a total of $6,650,500 in loans for the month.

    Together, the recipients reported creating 34 new jobs and retaining 64 existing positions as a result of the financing.

    According to the Small Business Administration report, two Corridor businesses received Iowa SBA loans in August under the program:

    • Pretty Nail and Spa LLC of Iowa City received $226,000, creating two jobs and retaining two existing jobs.
    • D&L Self Storage LLC of Lisbon received $157,000, creating two new jobs.
