Best advice you ever received? Everything is about confidence, and it's better to try and fail than to have never tried. Just go for it!
What would most people be surprised to learn about you? Probably not a lot! I'm a pretty open book and spend time with the people and doing the things that I love, so everyone kind of knows what I'm all about. If I had to pick one thing, maybe it would be that I am a huge foodie and love to cook when I have time to play around a bit. Or maybe that I'm generally more of a night owl than a morning person.
What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why? Visibility! The Corridor is a great place to live for a lot of reasons, but we don't get the attention we deserve! We are "up and coming" as much as Des Moines or some of the other bigger cities in the area, but we don't seem to be in the spotlight as often. Cost of living is great, we have a pretty decent number of great activities throughout the area, and our food scene has gotten pretty awesome in the last few years!
What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50? I have always wanted to start or buy my own business. I'm very competitive and love a challenge, but also want to be able to make a meaningful impact on my community. I have some ideas for charities I'd like to start or be a part of, but positioning myself and my family to be able to take that on has to come first.
What are your passions outside of the workplace? Traveling with my wife, either to explore new places and cultures or to just spend time outdoors, Iowa football and flying.
