ImOn Communications is a provider of cable, Internet and phone service for residents of Cedar Rapids and Marion.
The company launched in March 2007 and continues to grow, establishing itself among the highest revenue-generating companies in the Corridor. When the company first started, it struggled and then dealt with the flooding of 2008. After that, it decided to upgrade its services and remake itself as a business.
The facelift paid off, because ImOn Communications ranked No. 2 in the medium-size business category in the Coolest Places to Work rankings.
In the surveys, employees had a number of reasons why the company is a cool place to work.
“Our company frequently has drawing for free event tickets to sports, theatre, fund-raising events,” one employee stated in a survey. “We also are able to donate vacation/sick time to a fellow employee who is sick or is in need of extra time off. I have been with the company from the beginning and there is a huge sense of family and community here and I love my ImOn family.”
While another wrote,

We are passionate about connecting with our community and everyone in the organization has the chance to participate in these programs. We have many company-sponsored lunches and breakfasts and everyone’s schedule is changed so that all can participate. We can also gift our vacation time to fellow associates so that they can deal with unfortunate life circumstances.”
ImOn is hiring for a few positions, including account manager, direct sales representative and field installation technician.
