University of Iowa Health Care has opened a new location in Urbandale that brings several of its Des Moines-area specialty services under one roof.

The clinic, located at 2901 86th St., began seeing patients Sept. 9. It serves as a hub for many adult and pediatric specialty services that were previously offered at UI Health Care West Des Moines–Jordan Creek Parkway and UI Health Care Johnston–Chambery Boulevard, which both closed in early September.

Specialties offered include adult hepatology, pediatric nephrology, pediatric urology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility services.

“We are proud of the excellent services our clinics provide in the Des Moines area, supporting UI Health Care’s broader mission to provide world-class care for all Iowans, close to home,” said Rachel Kirchner, director of UI Community Clinics. “By moving select adult and pediatric specialty services to a central location, we aim to improve the patient experience and expand access to the care we currently provide in this community.”

UI Health Care said its infertility clinic saw more than 4,000 patients from 2020 to 2025 at the former West Des Moines location. The system reports its in vitro fertilization success rate is the highest in Iowa and 10% higher than the national average.

“We treat each of our patients as an individual, and we feel privileged to be a part of this community, as well as so many Des Moines families’ journeys to pregnancy,” said Dr. Abigail Mancuso, reproductive endocrinologist at the new Urbandale clinic. “We are excited about moving to a larger facility in Urbandale so more patients in Des Moines and beyond have increased access to infertility care. Having one central location where we can provide more kinds of testing and imaging all in one place will allow for better coordination of care.”

A full list of UI Health Care’s current Des Moines-area locations is available at uihc.org. Earlier this year, more than 20 Mission Cancer + Blood locations also became part of UI Health Care, many of them in the Des Moines area.
