Owner Stephanie Marie Photography AGE: 39 Best advice you ever received? “Just start” – start scared and unprepared (start before you think you’re ready).  What do you consider your biggest break so far? In 2015, I traveled with friends to Paris and was introduced to boudoir photography. At the time, I thought there was no way I would ever be a boudoir photographer, but it planted a seed in my brain and I couldn’t shake the idea. Two years later, I opened my in-home boudoir studio and haven’t looked back.  What would most people be surprised to learn about you? I’m an Air Force Veteran and became a master scuba diver when I lived in Okinawa, Japan, for four years.  If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support? The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society – my sweet nephew Lincoln passed away from a rare form of leukemia in 2016 at only 8 months old, and I will never be able to stop trying to fight for a cure. All of the local no-kill animal shelters – my husband and I adopt senior dogs, work to rehab any behavioral and physical health issues, and spoil them rotten.  What are your passions outside of the workplace? Traveling and scuba diving with my family, rescuing senior dogs.  What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50? My husband and I would like to start a nonprofit dog sanctuary with the goal of rescuing senior dogs and providing them with a safe, loving environment. We have also started building a second business focusing on home decor. After opening my studio, I realized my love for decorating and design and I’m excited to be able to offer products in the future to help other people beautify their spaces.
