Applications are now open for Iowa’s annual grant programs supporting registered apprenticeship programs, with more than $3 million available statewide.
The grants are open to current registered apprenticeship sponsors that are registered with the Iowa Office of Apprenticeship. Funding is intended to help sponsors grow and sustain high-quality apprenticeship programs that provide hands-on training and support career pathways for Iowans.
Two grant programs are available.
The Iowa Apprenticeship Act grant, known as 84E, supports sponsors by helping cover training and other ongoing costs within active registered apprenticeship programs.
The Iowa Registered Apprenticeship Development Program grant, known as 84F, supports sponsors that established a high-demand occupation within an active registered apprenticeship program during the current year.
Applications for both grant programs will be accepted through Feb. 2, 2026. Sponsors must apply through iowagrants.gov.
Additional information is available to help sponsors determine which grant best fits their program. A comparison sheet outlining the requirements for the 84E and 84F grants is available, along with pre-application webinars and application materials on the respective 84E and 84F grant webpages.
