ImOn Communications has completed its acquisition of Danville Telecom after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals, the company announced.
Danville Telecom, founded in 1901 as Danville Mutual Telephone Company, provides fiber-optic telecommunications services to homes and businesses in Danville. Through its subsidiary iConnectYou, the company also delivers broadband service in Burlington, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Montrose, Wever and West Burlington.
ImOn, established in 2007, offers fiber-based internet, television and phone services across Iowa. According to a release, the company is building new fiber infrastructure in five Southeast Iowa communities. Officials said acquiring Danville Telecom will allow ImOn to expand more quickly by building on the company’s existing fiber network.
“For more than a century, Danville Telecom has been proud to serve our community with reliable, local service,” said Gena Parsons, chief operating officer of Danville Telecom. “Joining forces with ImOn ensures our customers will continue to receive the same personal care they’ve come to expect, while gaining access to enhanced technology and expanded resources for the future.”
ImOn President and CEO Patrice Carroll said the move strengthens the company’s ability to provide reliable service while preserving community-focused values. “We’re excited to become part of the Danville community,” Ms. Carroll said.
