Hyper Energy Bar is gearing up for its North Liberty debut, one year after opening a location in Iowa City’s Ped Mall at 115 E. College St.
The coffee and drink retailer is wrapping up construction on its 1,000-square-foot double drive-through building at 1695 Jordan St., adjacent to Highway 965.

This will be the 12th location for Hyper Energy Bar, which started selling its beverages from a food truck in the Des Moines metro area in 2021. Since then, the business has expanded to nine Iowa cities and two Nebraska cities, with plans for a Missouri location as well.
In addition to its coffee concoctions, Hyper Energy Bar offers hand-crafted energy drinks, caffeine-infused cocktails of fruit blends and sugary flavors like white chocolate, sour candy and cheesecake.
The company behind the business is Quad Cities-based real estate and hospitality firm Heart of America Group, which owns several hotels, restaurants and multifamily developments across the Midwest.
General manager of the Iowa City Hyper Energy Bar, Camryn McKay, says the North Liberty location will have a soft opening Dec. 19 from noon to 7 p.m. and will officially launch Dec. 20.
The business will be open Monday through Saturday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to Hyper Energy Bar’s website.
