The History Center is asking Linn County residents to complete a short survey to help the organization better understand community awareness of its mission and offerings, as well as factors that encourage or discourage participation in its programs.
The results will help shape future programming and the museum’s next permanent exhibit, scheduled to open in 2028.
The survey, available at tinyurl.com/HistoryCenterSurvey, takes less than five minutes to complete. It asks participants about their familiarity with the organization, reasons for visiting or not visiting, and what might inspire future attendance.
“As we plan for the future of The History Center, it’s important that we listen to the community we serve,” Executive Director Jason Wright said. “Two-thirds of our visitors come from Linn County, but more than 20% travel here from other states. This survey will help us ensure that our exhibits and programs speak to both our local community and the broader audiences who make us a destination.”
In fiscal 2025, The History Center hosted 86 programs and special events, drawing more than 10,000 participants. It also produces an award-winning oral history program, preserving first-person accounts that might otherwise be lost.
Survey participants will be entered to win one of three Amazon gift cards and an exclusive escape room experience.
The survey is open through Oct. 3.
