AbbeHealth Mental Health Services, an affiliate of UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids, will be consolidating and moving office space to a new location at 615 Fifth Street, SE, Cedar Rapids, in the fall 2024.

The new facility, formerly known as the Stamats building, has more than 31,000 square feet and is “ideal” as UnityPoint Health launches its new model of care with more integrated services, a news release stated.

According to the release, AbbeHealth’s model of care, called the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), is designed to improve access to community-based behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and support. CCBHCs focus is on providing comprehensive, integrated, coordinated, and person-centered behavioral healthcare.

The 8-bed crisis stabilization service operated by AbbeHealth at the Linn County Mental Health Crisis Center will not be relocating and will remain at its current location.

According to the release, the Cedar Rapids community has seen a significant increase in the need for behavioral health services since COVID-19. St. Luke’s Foundation plans to launch a community-wide fundraising campaign in support of this initiative.
