Discount retailer Five Below is set to open a new location at Westdale Town Center in Cedar Rapids in early October.
Frew Development Group, which owns and operates the center, said it turned over the retail space to Five Below at the end of August. The retailer is now completing interior renovations before opening.
The new Five Below store will be located at 3915 Westdale Parkway SW, Suite 100, between Michaels and JC Penney. It is expected to open Oct. 3, according to the retailer’s website.
Five Below sells products primarily priced at $5 or less, targeting tweens and teens with merchandise in categories including clothing, room decor, sports items, electronics and candy. The retailer also operates a “Five Beyond” section featuring higher-priced items such as electronics and housewares.
The Pennsylvania-based chain operates more than 1,800 locations across 44 states, including stores at 180 Collins Road NE in Cedar Rapids and at 1451 Coral Ridge Ave. #1960, near Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville, both of which opened in March 2019.

Westdale Town Center is the redeveloped former Westdale Mall, a 900,000-square-foot shopping center that Frew Development Group has transformed into an open-air retail destination.
