ESCO Electric Company will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Nov. 12 for a new facility along Highway 151 near Highway 13 in Marion, the company announced.
The ceremony, in partnership with the Marion Chamber of Commerce, will take place at 3 p.m. Attendees are asked to park at Victory Sports Center, 6240 N. Gateway Drive.
The $8.5 million project includes a 35,000-square-foot facility with 12,000 square feet of office space and 23,000 square feet for production, warehousing and prefabrication. The expansion is projected to create 18 jobs over the next three years.
ESCO Electric, a subsidiary of the ESCO Group, will relocate and consolidate operational teams currently based at its Third Avenue and Third Street sites to the new facility. The consolidated operations will include electrical construction, warehousing, logistics and prefabrication.
ESCO Group’s headquarters will remain at 3450 Third St. in Marion, where the company moved in 2011. The consolidation will free up space at the Third Street headquarters for ESCO Automation and ESCO Power & Safety Solutions.
“ESCO has deep roots in Marion, and this expansion reflects our commitment to continued growth here,” said Brad Hackett, ESCO Electric president. “By bringing these teams together under one roof, we can better serve our clients, support our employees, and continue investing in innovation. We are thankful for the help from the City of Marion as well as MEDCO’s.”
Mayor Nick AbouAssaly said the project supports a legacy Marion employer while developing the city’s eastern gateway.
“We are proud to partner with companies like ESCO that continue to create meaningful career opportunities and invest in our community’s future,” he said.
Construction is underway with an anticipated completion date of November 2026.
ESCO Group also has operations in St. Louis, Minneapolis, Denver, Omaha and Des Moines.
