The Eastern Iowa Health Center will open a walk-in clinic Nov. 17 inside its pharmacy at 400 12th St. SE in Cedar Rapids.
The clinic will operate without appointments and accept all insurance types, with copays due at time of service. According to the health center, it will be the only facility in the Cedar Rapids metro area where patients can see a medical provider and receive a prescription in one location.
The walk-in clinic will join seven other services Eastern Iowa Health Center currently provides: family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health including OB-GYN, behavioral health including telepsychiatry and medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders, dental care and pharmacy services. The pharmacy itself opened to the public earlier this year.
“I am proud to announce the opening of EIHC’s new Walk-in Clinic,” said Joe Lock, president and CEO of Eastern Iowa Health Center. “I strongly encourage the public to utilize EIHC’s Walk-in Clinic for immediate, personal health needs and to support local business and the patients we serve.”
The Eastern Iowa Health Center is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates as a patient-centered medical home. The organization anticipates 72,000 patient and provider visits this year.
