The Princeton Review recently ranked Coe College as No. 8 for Best Career Services in the U.S., according to a release.

Published Aug. 28, the Review also ranked Coe as No. 22 for Most Accessible Professors, recommending it as one of the โ€œBest 390 Colleges and Universitiesโ€ and securing it a spot on the โ€œBest Colleges: Midwestโ€ list, as well as including it in the โ€œGuide to Green Colleges.โ€

This is the third consecutive year the college has been ranked in the Most Accessible Professors and the Best Career Services categories, and is the only college or university in Iowa to hold those titles, the release stated.

โ€œRelationships in education are critical,โ€ said Coe College Provost and Faculty Dean Angela Ziskowski. โ€œWhen youโ€™re in class, chatting during advising hours, sitting down for lunch or talking through an internship opportunity, we are going to get to know you. Thatโ€™s how we accomplish our core mission of preparing each Kohawk for a meaningful life and fulfilling career โ€” understanding our students. Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m proud of this ranking, but even prouder of our faculty. The level of care and attention they provide students is unparalleled.โ€

The link between these two rankings is the individual attention each Coe student receives both in the classroom and outside of the traditional class space, the release stated.

โ€œBoth professors and professional staff go above and beyond to meet with students and provide the best career preparation and connections possible,โ€ said Associate Vice President for Advancement, Barb Tupper. โ€œWeโ€™re committed to creating real professional situations and networking opportunities so Kohawks can continue to have a leg up. Our unique position in Cedar Rapids and extensive partnerships with area employers allows us to provide these opportunities for our students.โ€

According to the release, nearly 100% of reporting Coe graduates find employment, attend graduate school or engage in a service opportunity within nine months of graduation, consistently for more than a decade.

Inclusion in the โ€œBest 390 Collegesโ€ guide puts Coe in the top 15% of the 2,000+ four-year colleges and universities in America that were surveyed. Coeโ€™s placement and subsequent rankings are based on ratings and data collected directly from students.
