Cedar Point Capital Partners, a financial advisory firm based in Cedar Rapids, has earned certification from the Centre for Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX), an independent global organization that assesses firms for adherence to fiduciary standards.
The certification, operated by Broadridge Financial Solutions, places Cedar Point among fewer than 250 investment advisers worldwide to receive the designation. It is the first firm in Iowa’s Corridor region to achieve the recognition.
CEFEX certification is based on a comprehensive evaluation of a firm’s policies and practices to ensure they align with fiduciary responsibilities—meaning advisers are required to act in the best interests of their clients. These standards are informed by decades of legal precedent and regulatory guidance.
To obtain the certification, firms must undergo a voluntary, annual audit conducted by an independent analyst. The process evaluates whether the firm maintains structured, transparent procedures for delivering investment advice that is consistent, objective, and client-focused.
Trent Von Ahsen, managing partner at Cedar Point Capital Partners, said the certification reflects the firm’s commitment to maintaining high professional standards. “This independent assessment validates that we have strong processes in place to support our clients’ financial goals,” he said in a news release.
Carlos Panksep, vice president at the Centre for Fiduciary Excellence, noted that the designation signals to clients that Cedar Point’s practices are aligned with industry best standards. “This indicates the firm’s interests are aligned with investors,” Mr. Panksep said in a news release.
Cedar Point Capital Partners was certified specifically for its services in comprehensive portfolio management and retirement plan consulting. The firm’s certification report is available to the public through CEFEX.
