UnityPoint Health – AbbeHealth Services – Abbe Center for Community Mental Health will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 6 to mark the opening of its expanded Cedar Rapids location at 615 Fifth Street SE, formerly known as the Stamats building.
The event is scheduled for 4 p.m., with an employee and donor open house and tours following from 4:30 to 6 p.m. UnityPoint Health team members, board members, administrators and donors will be joined by Cedar Rapids Economic Alliance members for the ceremony.
The newly renovated 31,000-square-foot facility consolidates providers from Abbe Center for Community Mental Health – Cedar Rapids, UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine – Abbe Center and Abbe Center for Community Mental Health – Hiawatha in a single location.
The downtown site provides therapy, psychiatric care, primary care, crisis intervention and peer support services. The facility also houses the Iowa Warm Line at 1-844-775-9276, a 24-hour confidential helpline staffed by peer specialists who provide emotional support to individuals across Iowa.
Community and corporate contributions to the AbbeHealth Capital Campaign, led by the St. Luke’s Foundation, funded renovations to convert the building into a behavioral health care facility.
